Looking for a summer holiday? Gqeberha I'm Eastern Cape South Africa awaits

The warmth and hotness are a call out for a holiday plan this coming summer. A place that brings relief from the heat and has coolness in its atmosphere, with chilling waters of the beach and tourist attractions in South Africa's friendly city, Gqeberha previously known as Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape, South Africa.

Accommodation and flights

Finding accommodation is not a big hustle in Gqeberha, the city is actually prepared for visitors especially during holiday seasons. Others offer meals, spa, and conveniently next to the malls and beach. 

Just imagine busking in the sun whilst relaxing in a sea view hotel a with a manageable population, you will not feel overwhelmed instead that gives a relaxing atmosphere. Around the beach are ideal hotels for accommodation and guests houses in town, to suburb and townships. 

Flights need to be booked on time and shuttle, car hiring and other Uber and Bolt services are easily available.

Food

Food is not an issue in the windy city. Be it Xhosa traditional dishes, Italian, Chinese, Mexican restaurants neighboring African countries to shisanyama, seafood and the sorts. 



The Royalston Estate nature and game reserve

It is located on a 1000-hectare land scape. Envision rolling hills, golden grasslands, dense forest vegetation, freshwater streams and unique fauna and flora, all encased in the scent of the Indian Ocean. 

Kragga Kamma Game Park 



It is another lush greenery place with self accommodation, wild tour whether self-driven or led by a professional to see cheetahs and other wild animals roaming around their wild territory. Bird watching or take a monkey view walk and a restaurant inside the premises of Kragga. The place usually hosts events and entertainment that includes children. 

Beach for summer

The obvious one for coastal places is going to the beach just to relax however not all places, have what Gqeberha adds to their quiet beach life, there are also fun activities for people whorse riding, surfing, fishing, penguins, dolphins and are mostly safe. 

During summer season there are some entertainment shows, music, games for children like the pheris wheel, jumping castles and rides. There is also a lot of time in for just a normal beach visit, covered in sunscreen and laying lazy, stroll around nature's beautiful waters and sand for some soul fulfillment beach day and children to build sand castles whilst. 

Gqeberha is one of the good experiences which offers these activities. There are beach events, water sport competitions that people get to enjoy.

Night out

Theatres usually hosts a variety of shows at night, poetry, stage drama, dance and pubs, nightclubs in and out of town. Just make sure that you take safety measures as crime is prominent in cities at night. 

Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium 

Summer is sport season, if you love the game, you can also arrange your stay along the same time of your favorites. 


Nelson Mandela Stadium to first team soccer games. St George's stadium is host to many international and local rugby and cricket games which makes gives more opportunities for the city to accommodate international spectators and tourists. 

Next to the stadium is St. George’s Park, one of South Africa's oldest public parks. Stroll through its beautiful gardens, admire the historic Pearson Conservatory and rest in the grass or the chairs whilst children play around. 

Museums display of diverse forms of art, the rich history, dating back to centuries ago to the South African history, Xhosa culture, Khoi and San. 

Children's entertainment 


Bay West is one of the most popular places for games for children followed by Boardwalk mall; it has a game area and a cinema that kids love. All you need is to buy tickets for access in these areas.

There are plenty of places to visit near Gqeberha thay are less than an hour drive, they include:

Nyosi wild life 


The ideal safari for a weekend away. Think of a semi-peripheral place to relax before going back to hectic or normal routines. A suitable location to bring such an experience is Nyosi. 

For instance, a warm bath whilst outdoors gazing at the natural vegetation, clouds and the atmosphere by far exceeds normal bathing in a tub, this seems therapeutic and breathtaking. For cool water lovers, a swimming pool is also available. Topped with a safari drive and well cooked meals. 

Addo elephant park


A laid back small town, big on elephants as the name speaks for itself as well as buffalos, bucs, springboks and birds. Addo is also rich in farming, being the largest citrus producers in Africa, an ideal place for a farm tour. 

Mooihoek Strawberry Farm


Still on farm visits, another great place to take children with that is close to Gqeberha is Mooihoek Strawberry Farm. Picking up strawberries to buying yogisips, juice to strawberry cake in the farm. Then heading back to Gqeberha with a bucket of your picking to make your own smoothie or pie.
